Completed Item on To-Do List – Recurrent Training

Recurrent training items must be repeated in a timeframe determined by the course owner.  They are on your To-Do list with a “required by” date based on your most recent completion date.  Your Completed Work reflects each completion, and your To-Do list updates by recalculating the “required by” date to tell you the new date by which you must retake the training. Please check the due date for the item currently on your To-Do list.

New Hire Not in eLMS

New users are generated in eLMS via the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) and this could take up to two pay periods before a user has access to eLMS.  If you do not have an account in eLMS three weeks from your hire date, this means you may not have been added properly in the FPPS.

Please check with your local HR point of contact to ensure that your information has been entered properly into FPPS.  If the answer is no, you will not show up in eLMS until 24 hours after all of your information is entered.  If you confirmed that all of your information was added correctly, and you cannot login to eLMS after 24 hours, please contact us again.

Once your eLMS file is created, we will also need to map your email address with Active Directory in order to use MyAccess (which requires a fully enabled PIV card). You may reach out to your local eLMS administrator to monitor this process. If you do not know who your admin is, you may contact your PL1.

The list of line of business primary level 1 (PL1) eLMS administrators can be found at:

Temporary User Accounts

Temporary user accounts can be created ONLY for people who have mission critical training they need to complete prior to getting access to their eLMS account.  Please have your manager email the request to the line of business (LOB) primary level 1 (PL1) administrator.  A list of LOB PL1s can be found at https://ksn2.faa.gov/faa/learn/elmsresourcecenter/Documents/eLMS%20Primary%20and%20Backup%20Level%201%20Administrators.pdf

The LOB PL1 checks the checkbox to confirm the reason listed for the user needing this temporary eLMS user account is for mission-critical training that cannot wait until the regular eLMS account is created.  The PL1 signs the form and provides a telephone number and email address.

Once the form has been completed and signed, send it back to the elmssupport@faa.gov to be processed.

Your PL1 has access to this form, but it can also be found at:

How to View Transcript/Print Certificate

To view your Transcript or print a completion certificate, go to your Home page (where your My Assigned Training list is located). On the right-hand side you will see a tile entitled Transcript. Under the title, click the link for View All. Hover your cursor over the course and see the option to print a certificate.

Contractor Requesting Training in eLMS

FAA contractors can take FAA-sponsored online training or attend FAA-sponsored instructor-led training only when such training is approved in writing by the FAA Contracting Officer (CO). The FAA CO is the only person with authority to approve FAA training for a contractor, therefore a FAA contracting officer representative (COR) is not authorized to approve FAA contractor training requests. The FAA CO approval of a training request for FAA-sponsored instructor-led training is dependent upon space availability. In the event a class is full, a FAA employee’s registration could lead to a contractor losing his/her space in the class.

Once approval is granted, an eLMS admin must assign the training.  The Help Desk does not assign training to contractors.

Please see the Contractor Training Approval Process SOP for all the steps in this process. https://ksn2.faa.gov/faa/learn/elmsresourcecenter/Content/SOP_ContractorTraining.pdf

The Skillsoft catalogs have not been assigned to contractors.  No eLMS admin should assign Skillsoft courses to contractors.

If you have any other questions in the future relating to eLMS, please feel free to contact the eLMS and Blackboard Help Desk at elmssupport@faa.gov.

Request to Change User ID

The FAA does not permit eLMS user IDs to be changed. The user ID links all user information in eLMS; to change it opens up the door for numerous problems to occur. Name changes, however, are permitted.

To have your name changed in eLMS, you must first submit an official change request to the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) through your HR representative. eLMS receives account information updates from FPPS nightly and will update eLMS through the feed.

Course Not Launching / Displaying Properly

If you are using Chrome, log out and then log back in with Internet Explorer.  Chrome will not work with most eLMS courses.  If you are using IE, typically this is a desktop configuration issue, not an eLMS issue.

Please contact the FAA My IT Help Desk for resolution.  They will be able to compare your current desktop configuration to what is required to run eLMS properly.

Phone: 1-844-FAA-MYIT (322-6948)

Email: helpdesk@faa.gov

If they are unable to resolve the problem, please contact the eLMS and Blackboard Help Desk at elmssupport@faa.gov.
